MEAT PIES

Meat pies are available hot and ready to eat on the truck and in the market.

Our individual pies (pub pies) range from $8.00 to $12.00 each. The family sized meat pies are $32. Most are available frozen to take and bake.

We start our newbie customers with our Cornish Pasty – at the top of the list – so then when you come back you know you started at the top.

We have developed a  wide  variety of savoury pies – each with their own unique filling and flavour profile wrapped in exceptionally delicious pastry. We are really excited about the beef fillings as the beef is often provided to us through our family farm near Pigeon Lake where the cows are grass fed and finished – meaning they’ve had a good life, been treated the way they should before they’re sent off.  

Our chickens come to us via the Hutterites and we buy the birds whole.  We butcher them and poach them to extract delicious stock and chicken fat and then cut up the meat so that there are actually chunks of chicken in each and every pie along with the peas, and carrots and corn and potatoes and onions in our creamy chicken gravy.   We have finicky kids who have succumbed to this delicious meal.

Cornish Pasty

Ground beef, potatoes, carrots, onions, rutabaga in a flaky pastry crust.

Tourtiere

Ground beef and pork, bouquet of herbs and spices topped with puff pastry.

Shepherd’s Pie

Ground beef, herbs & spices topped with creamy mashed potatoes – no pastry.  This one is gluten free.

Steak & Kidney

Braised cubes of steak & kidney, carrots,  mushrooms, onions, beef gravy, topped with puff pastry.

Jamaican

Ground beef, onions, scotch bonnet peppers, herbs & spices wrapped in puff pastry.

Chicken Pot Pie

Chunks of chicken, onion, potatoes, peas, carrots, corn in a creamy, flavourful sauce topped with puff pastry.

Steak & Cheese

Ground steak, onion, 2yr old Balderson cheese in pie pastry topped with puff pastry.

Salmon Wellington

Wild sockeye salmon, fresh spinach, leeks, cream cheese, capers, herbs & spices wrapped in puff pastry.

Sausage Rolls

Ground pork, bread crumbs, water, cumberland herbs & spices wrapped in puff pastry.

Melton Mowbray

Pork shoulder and bacon with fabulous spicing and injected with pork gelatine.

.Scottish Pie

Ground lamb, herbs & spices wrapped in a traditional pastry shell.

Steak & Alley Kat Ale

Braised cube steak, onions, mushrooms, carrots, gravy made with Alley Kat’s beer, topped with puff pastry.

VEGGIE PIES

Veg + Gluten Free Quiche Slice

Herbed spaghetti squash, red pepper, kale, sundried tomatoes, leeks, cheese, bound together with eggs and cream.

Samosa Vegan Pie

Medley of vegetables in a light curry sauce, wrapped in our delicious puff pastry.

Potato, Cheese and Onion Pasty

Potatoes, 2 year old Balderson cheddar, caramelized onions, herbs & spices, wrapped in puff pastry.

FRUIT PIES

Most recently, Meat Street Pies added fruit pies to their offerings.  These pies are made with an all butter crust – different from the savoury pies most of which are topped with puff pastry.   There is a vast variety of fruit pies – which aren’t available on the FOOD TRUCK, only at the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market  & at our commercial kitchen- cuz there’s just not enough room on the truck.

 Our 6 inch fruit pies are $12, and the 9 inch family-sized fruit pies are $20 .
